Rail Police rescued a passenger from being crushed under a train at Cuttack station in Odisha

On 5 June Thursday Orisha An alert and courageous rail police constable saved a passenger from being crushed under a train from the jaws of death at Cuttack Railway Station.

Constable Tulu Behera posted at the station swung into action around 8.05 am when Mohammed Muzahir (44), a resident of Mirzapur in North Dinajpur, West Bengal, slipped while trying to board moving train no. 22503 (Kanyakumari-Dibrugarh Express) bound for Kishanganj.

When Muzahir slipped and was moments away from falling into the gap between the platform and the speeding train, Constable Behera showed his presence of mind. Without hesitation, he rushed forward and pulled the passenger off the edge, saving him from a fatal accident.

This heartbreaking incident was witnessed by many passengers present on the platform, who appreciated the constable's quick and heroic response. Recognizing the bravery, Shri Y.B. Khurania, IPS, DGP, Odisha announced a cash reward of 300 Pounds for Constable Behera.

Additionally, Shri Arun Bothra, ADG, Coastal Security and Railways personally spoke to the constable and praised his courage and alertness. Officials have urged passengers not to attempt to board or alight from moving trains, and praised the dedication of railway security personnel who continue to ensure public safety under high-pressure circumstances.
