PARKER, Colo. — A dog trapped in a drainage pipe was safely rescued Saturday morning by South Metro Fire Rescue at the Parker Water Treatment Facility.

Crews were dispatched at 9:27 a.m. to the facility on Parkerhouse Road, where they found the animal with only its head visible above ground. Working alongside the Parker Police Department and Douglas County Animal Control, firefighters used an aerial bucket from Tower 45 to perform the delicate rescue.

The dog, though frightened, appeared uninjured and was turned over to animal control officers. Officials are working to identify the owner and determine how the dog became stuck.
