Curious Kitten Rescued From Car Engine in Virginia
HERNDON, Va. — A curious kitten is safe and sound after officers from the Herndon Police Department teamed up with Fairfax County Police and Fire & Rescue to rescue her from a car engine.
The feline had crawled into the engine compartment, prompting a careful late-night response. Officer Simpson and the emergency teams worked together to safely free the trapped kitten without injury.
The kitten was turned over to Fairfax County Animal Protection Police for care.
Officials praised the teamwork involved and reminded drivers to check under their hoods—especially during cooler weather—when animals may seek shelter in warm engine bays.
