CLACKAMAS, Ore. — Soldiers from the Oregon Army National Guard’s 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team received a hero’s welcome at Camp Withycombe on July 19, following a year-long deployment to Kosovo in support of NATO’s Kosovo Force (KFOR) mission.

Returning in two groups throughout the day, the soldiers were greeted by family, friends, and fellow service members as they concluded their role in KFOR’s 34th rotation. During their deployment, the Oregon Guardsmen conducted more than 4,000 security patrols and took part in over 13,000 public engagements aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The KFOR mission, established in 1999, supports a safe and secure environment in Kosovo and the surrounding Balkans. The Oregon soldiers’ contributions marked a significant effort toward continued international peacekeeping operations.
