Mandi, Himachal Pradesh:
Relentless rainfall continues to wreak havoc across Himachal Pradesh, with 44 lives lost in the last 10 days, as per the latest data from the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA). The situation remains especially dire in Mandi district, where a night of intense downpours caused massive destruction.

In Karsog, one person was killed following a cloudburst, while in Syanj (Gohar subdivision), seven people are reported missing after a house was swept away by a flash flood triggered by an overflowing stream. A mother and daughter were successfully rescued, but the search continues for the missing.

Throughout Mandi, visuals show the scale of the disaster:

Flooding in Pandoh Bazaar led to emergency rescues

Widespread structural damage reported; homes collapsed or submerged

The Pateekari Power Project near Pandoh has suffered significant damage

Bridges at Bakhli and Kuklah have collapsed, cutting off several roads

The Chandigarh–Manali National Highway remains completely closed

Authorities are also closely monitoring the Pandoh Dam, which is currently holding water at 2922 feet, just below the danger mark of 2941 feet. To prevent overflow, over 1.5 lakh cusecs of water is being released into the Beas River, now flowing at full spate. The river's floodwaters reached up to the Panchvaktra Temple in Mandi city, raising fresh alarms.

More than 250 roads across the state are blocked, 600+ transformers are down, and over 100 water supply schemes are affected. Despite continuous rainfall, emergency teams are working around the clock on rescue and restoration efforts, with the administration remaining on high alert.
