Off-duty paramedics kindly treat foreigner with injured toe
This is the heartwarming moment off-duty paramedics kindly treated a foreigner with an injured toe.
The first responders were relaxing on a driveway when a Serbian tourist approached them to ask for help with his wound in Chanthaburi, Thailand.
CCTV footage shows one of the crew offering a seat to the tourist while talking to him on May 16.
The holidaymaker then pointed to his big toe, with the toenail almost completely torn off, apparently from hitting a hard object.
The medics began giving basic first aid, cleaning the wound before applying antiseptic and dressing it to prevent infection.
The paramedics can be seen helping to put the sandal back on the injured foot after putting gauze on the toe, before continuing to talk to the foreigner through a translation application.
One of the providers recalled the foreigner asking if they could just remove the nail, but they refused because they could only provide first aid and were not qualified to perform minor surgical procedures. They recommended he go to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Local media reported that the man tried to pay for the help, but the local refused.
He said: 'I did not take it because I was a volunteer, and I am happy to assist for free.'
