Phoenix, United States - August 07, 2025 08/07/2025 12:00 am GMT-0700 AHWATUKEE, Ariz. – Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers, Phoenix police, and Phoenix fire crews responded to reports of a collision involving two motorcycles on the eastbound South Mountain Loop 202 off-ramp for Desert Foothills Drive at approximately midnight. According to information gathered at the scene, two motorcycles struck the barrier wall at the top of the off-ramp. One unidentified rider was pronounced deceased at the scene; the second rider was transported to a local trauma center in an unknown condition. The collision resulted in the closure of the eastbound 202 on and off-ramps for Desert Foothills Drive. AZ DPS has taken command of the incident and will be handling the traffic fatality investigation.
