This is the dramatic moment an onlooker rescued a child trapped between waterfall rocks in China.

A group of men swimming nearby rushed to help the 12-year-old boy, who had become stuck between boulders in a stream at a scenic waterfall in Duyun, Guizhou.

Footage shows tourists forming a human wall to slow the current while others brought a rope to assist in the rescue on August 24.

The youngster can be heard screaming with only his head above the rushing water.

Moments later, a tattooed man in green and black shorts climbed onto the boulders and pulled the child from the narrow crevice.

Another rescuer stood below, ready to catch him and guide him safely ashore.

After the laborious effort, the holidaymaker managed to free the boy and helped lower him carefully with a rope.

Witnesses said the child had been trekking with his family when he slipped into the rocks.

The filmer said: 'With rain approaching, we feared the rising stream would drown him.'

The boy was reportedly unharmed but left exhausted by the ordeal.
