A bride drove an electric trike with her groom in the passenger seat on their way to the wedding reception.

Footage shows Apple holding the throttle while organisers adjusted her gown, as her husband Justin sat behind her in Agusan del Sur, the Philippines.

Apple's three-wheeler was decorated with sheer fabric and red ribbons for the special occasion.

The couple travelled from the church to the party venue, where they were welcomed by guests on June 24.

Event organiser Cecelia said: 'That was their bridal car. It was a more practical option than renting a vehicle.'

E-bikes and e-trikes are becoming increasingly popular in the Philippines because they cost less to operate than cars or motorcycles, especially with rising fuel prices. They are also practical for short trips in crowded cities and narrow roads where larger vehicles often have difficulty passing.

Affordable imports from China, driven by the country's rapidly expanding electric vehicle industry, have made low-cost e-bikes and e-trikes widely available across Southeast Asia.
