Phoenix, United States - October 06, 2025 10/05/2025 10:48 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers, Phoenix police, and Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of a person shot in a vehicle, located at the QuikTrip near Buckeye Road and the South Mountain Loop 202. Officers and troopers arrived to find an unidentified gunshot victim in the driver's seat of a red Chevy sedan. Per officers at the scene, the victim stated the shooting occurred on the southbound South Mountain Loop 202. An unknown suspect fired shots from their vehicle, striking the victim's vehicle. The victim was struck by the gunfire and exited the 202 at Buckeye Road, stopping at the QuikTrip. A female passenger was in the Chevy sedan at the time of the shooting but was not injured. The gunshot victim was transported to a local trauma center by Phoenix Fire personnel. Their condition has yet to be confirmed. The Phoenix Police Department has taken command of the investigation.
