This is the dramatic moment a pair of pet American Bullies stopped a snake from slithering into a home.

The dogs were playing in the front yard when they spotted the reptile gliding into the compound in Chanthaburi, Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the canines chasing the serpent, which then lunged at one of the dogs on August 22.

After the initial attack, the bullies paused, but moments later the snake bit the dog again on its ear.

Startled, the pooch shook its head and ran, trying to shake the snake off, while its sibling remained behind, keeping a watchful eye on the situation.

Once the snake released its grip, it slithered away into the bushes.

The homeowner said: 'Thankfully, the snake was not venomous, and my dog was fine.'
