A 47-year-old man was arrested in the act after driving a Sabesp truck into a supermarket on Rua dos Feltrins, in São Bernardo do Campo. According to witnesses, the driver argued with employees and even threatened people with an iron bar before ramming the vehicle into the store. A video captured the moment of the crash.

According to the Public Security Department (SSP), the suspect had collided with another vehicle earlier and, after the argument, drove the truck into the supermarket, hitting a second car. One person was injured and taken to the Alves Dias Emergency Care Unit (UPA).

The man was detained by the Military Police and refused to take a breathalyzer test, but a medical exam at the Legal Medical Institute (IML) confirmed he was intoxicated. The truck and the iron bar were seized.

In a statement, Sabesp apologized for the incident and said a company manager was sent to the scene to thoroughly investigate the case. The company also stated that it does not tolerate this kind of behavior and will take all appropriate measures regarding the employee and the contracted service provider involved.
