Pedestrian fighting for his life after he was run over by a car on Birmingham main road

West Midlands Police Collision Investigation Officers on the scene of a serious road traffic collision between a male pedestrian and a car on the junction of Bristol Road and Sir Harrys Road in Birmingham on Saturday 1 November evening.

Police closed a large section of the road that connects much of the South West of Birmingham to the city centre.

A red Mazda Saloon vehicle was examined and photographed with yellow evidence markers placed by the roadside.

The man had been hit just meters away from a pedestrian crossing on the 4 laned road, 30mph road.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: ‘We were called following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Bristol Road at just before 7.30pm yesterday (1 November).

‘It happened near the junction of Sir Harry's Road and a man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

‘The driver remained at the scene and is helping with our enquiries.

‘Anyone who was in the area at the time and has information or dashcam footage is asked to contact us.
