US, Phoenix: Peoria DPS Trooper Involved In Collision With Wrong-Way Driver
Phoenix, United States - November 05, 2025 11/04/2025 11:50 pm GMT-0700 PEORIA, Ariz. – According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety sergeant at the scene, DPS Metro West District troopers responded to reports of a white sedan traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the Loop 303 between Lone Mountain Parkway and Lake Pleasant Parkway around 11:50 p.m. A trooper spotted the vehicle approaching Lake Pleasant Parkway in the number one lane. The vehicle did not yield to the oncoming troopers' lights and sirens. The trooper utilized his patrol vehicle to ram the wrong-way driver, successfully immobilizing the sedan. The driver was quickly detained. Peoria Fire Medical crews responded to the scene and transported the unidentified wrong-way driver to a local hospital for precautionary evaluation. The involved trooper is uninjured. It is unknown if impairment is a factor.
