This is the heart-stopping moment a truck crashed into an electricity post while allegedly fleeing a police checkpoint.

The truck reportedly sped past an emissions checkpoint before escaping into a bus depot in Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday.

Footage shows the vehicle racing through the terminal while being chased by officers on motorbikes. The truck turned onto a street, causing its trailer to hit an electric post.

An officer at the Samae Dam district station said the truck driver had been trying to avoid a fine for black smoke violations.

He said: 'Authorities are searching for the driver to fine him and charge him for causing damage to government property. We will also investigate if he was driving under the influence of drugs.'
