This is the shocking moment a wild boar scrambled onto a second-floor windowsill ledge after breaking into a home.

The rampaging hog became trapped after it climbed onto the barred entrance of a residential building in Guizhou, China.

Footage shows the beast standing still on the ledge as it looks for ways to escape on the evening of November 19.

In another clip, before being stuck, the boar charged into one eatery and later entered another nearby restaurant, sending frantic workers and customers running to safety.

Witnesses said the wild boar sprinted onto the second floor of the home after being surrounded by locals.

They said the boar later jumped down and escaped without injuring anyone.

Local officials confirmed the wild boar later returned to the nearby forest and no one was injured.

Local media reported that China's wild boar population has risen to around two million, with increasing numbers straying into urban areas and causing damage.

In 2023, wild boars were removed from China's list of protected terrestrial wildlife species, meaning they are no longer classified as state-protected.

Jin Kun, director of the Institute of Protected Areas at the Chinese Academy of Forestry, said: ‘The animals often descend from mountains in spring and autumn to look for food.'
