Truck skids off road and crashes during heavy rain
This is the terrifying moment a six-wheel truck skids off the road and crashes into a sign after losing control in heavy rain.
The lorry had been on the road yesterday (April 30) afternoon in Ubon Rathcathani, Thailand, during a massive downpour.
Driver Wanpen Supasri 44, lost control and careered off the road before smashing into trees next to the car park of a CCTV shop.
Her husband Samai Supasri, 45, and daughter Kanyawee Supasri, five, were injured in the smash. All three were taken to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Panya Koonnoe, Deputy Inspector General from Ubon Ratchathani City Police, said officers are now investigating the crash and warned motorists to take care when driving in rain.
He said: ''The family were driving home to Amnat Charoen province during the heavy rain. The road was slippery. Their car skidded off the road and hit a sign and trees.
''There are many warnings about the weather and the dangerous conditions on the road. Rain will continue so drivers should be careful.''
Thailand has been hit by severe rain over the last week with flooding and downpours set to continue until the weekend.
