A hyena was rescued by locals from a well in central India’s Madhya Pradesh province.

The rescue operation was carried out in the state’s Mandsour region, located in Malwa district.

A video of the operation has emerged.

According to the footage, the predator was seen encircling the walls of the well, while more than half of its body stayed submerged in water.

The hyena was looking for a way to scale the wall and get out, however, it proved futile.

Later, a group of locals were seen pulling up the distressed creature from the deep well.

They used a cot, tied it sides with rope and pulled the animal, which perched itself on the centre of the plank.

After it was lifted up, it ran away to safety.

Animal rescue happens almost everyday in India.
