While the group is perched on the tractor engine, the man leading them can be seen drinking beer from a bottle.

The incident took place in Parchur in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh on March 24.

The men were part of a procession that was taken out to seek votes in support of candidate Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, who is contesting from YSR Congress Party.

Ironically, YSR Congress Party has promised to implement prohibition - a popular demand with women voters - if voted to power.

India begins to vote in April to elect a new government at the centre.

At the same time, the state of Andhra Pradesh will also vote to replace its regional government whose term is ending shortly.
