An Indian couple somehow walked away with only minor injuries after a driver smashed them off their motorbike and then ran them over.

Horrifying CTV footage, which was captured on 1 April on the Bangalore-Chennai national highway near Chittoor, shows the couple slowing down and then switching between several lanes as they attempt to make a U-turn.

A white Mercedes SUV approaches at speed and is unable to slow down in time as the motorbike meanders into its path.

The couple fall onto the vehicle and then both go under the wheels.

The driver of the motorbike quickly gets to his feet but the female passenger remains stuck beneath the front wheels of the SUV.

The driver and passengers of the SUV get out and try in vain to pull her from beneath the vehicle.

The driver then slowly reverses and she gets to her feet.

Incredibly, they were treated for only minor injuries.

This is the stunning moment a couple on bike get stuck under a car after it hits them from behind.

As they fall down the car passes over the man till he is hit by rear wheels. The woman is stuck under the bonnet and both of their bodies pops out from under the car in chilling visuals captured by a traffic CCTV camera.

Three men get down from the car in shock and pull out the couple who are amazingly alive.

The couple were rushed to to a hospital, where doctors treated them for minor injuries.

Police said the accident occurred on Bangalore-Chennai national highway near Chittoor in South India on April 1.

The couple, who has not been identified, were driving to their home in Mararimukulapalli village and had to make a U-turn on the highway. The rider slowed down and veered towards his right to make the turn but changed his mind when he noticed the car in the rear mirror.

While he tried to get back to the left lane, the car driver failed to slow down and ended up hitting the bike.

Police said they have taken note of the incident and are probing.
