An Indian couple with their baby were lucky to walk away unharmed recently when the motor scooter they were riding was sandwiched between two buses.

Terrifying CCTV footage from onboard one of the buses in Kalmandapan village in Pondicherry shows the driver of the scooter attempting to shoot through the narrowing gap between the two passenger vehicles.

The rider hits the side of one of the buses hard and the scooter becomes wedged.

According to local media, both bus drivers reacted quickly to the incident and brought their vehicles to a halt saving the lives of the family on the scooter.

Seconds after the incident, the family can be seen in the video walking through the gap between the buses to safety.

The dramatic clip was filmed on October 23.

A couple riding a scooter with an infant was caught in between two buses in Kalmandapam village in Puducherry Union Territory. While the duo and their child escaped with a few minor injuries, the visuals of the shocking incident were captured by the CCTV camera installed on one of the buses. The footage shows the scooter rider negligently speeding to overtake a bus heading towards Puducherry. It then collided with an oncoming bus, while getting trapped by the other on the opposite side. The couple survived with minor injuries after both the drivers stopped their vehicles on time. Passengers from the buses also got down to help the couple. The Nettapakkam police is investigating the incident. The incident is from October 23. Police said the bus drivers saw the unfolding accident and stoppe the buses immediately saving the scooter riders lives.
