三名工人为救工友陷入沙坑 消防员手刨沙子营救
7月8日下午5点24分，贵港市消防支队指挥中心接到报警，贵港覃塘区一家混凝土公司有4人被埋压在沙坑里，情况十分紧急。消防员火速赶赴现场救援。
下午5点36分，贵港覃塘消防中队消防员到达现场，经现场勘查和询问得知，事故现场有1名工人已经完全被沙子覆盖，另外旁边有3名工人头部露在外面，而这3名工友都是下去救人被困的。此时情况已万分紧急，被困人员如不及时救出，他们的身体会因血液流通不畅导致机体坏死。
根据现场情况，消防员迅速敲定了救援方案。救援一组利用木板打桩固定，将几名被困人员四周围住，拦住下落的沙子；救援二组在做好安全防护之后，利用小型工具和手刨的方式挖沙，其他工人也协助消防人员实施救援。大家轮番上阵，一点点将被埋工人身边的沙子掏出，消防员还一直和工人交谈，并用葡萄糖水给他们补充能量，鼓励他们坚持。
下午6点05分，第一名被困工人被成功救出，随后通过用同样的方法，另两名工人也先后脱险，三人身体状况都良好。当晚8点10分，在经过两个多小时的救援后，第四名被困者被救出，遗憾的是已经没有了生命体征。目前，事故还在进一步调查处理中。
