This visual captures the daring act by a railway official whose swift action saved the life of a passenger who tried to alight a moving train in southern India.

The incident took place at Nampally Railway Station in Telangana's Hyderabad city.

It occurred when Charminar Express, that operates between the metropolitan cities- Chennai and Hyderabad- was arriving at platform number 5 of Nampally Railway Station.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the passenger, identified as Venkat Reddy, hanging in the small gap between the train and platform and holding the bar next to the door.

Reddy was travelling from Secunderabad city to Hyderabad.

The alert Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, Vikul Kumar, saw the incident and ran towards Reddy.

He caught Reddy and pulled him aside while running along the train for nearly 50 metres.

Reddy escaped with minor injuries.

In a similar incident that took place on Aug. 24 at Chembur Railway Station in Maharashtra state's capital city, Mumbai, a patrol agent saved a man who fell down a railway platform while trying to board a running local train.
