CCTV footage captures the moment a man falls into the gap between a moving train and a platform as he attempts to board the means of transport.

The incident took place in India at the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in the Mumbai Suburban district on May 20.

As soon as the man, named Sunil Bajpai, gets hold of the door handle, the train starts moving faster and he loses his balance.

He gets dragged into the gap for a few seconds before people rush to the scene to rescue him.

Two female police officers who were patrolling the station help him by pulling him out of the gap where he got stuck.

According to the Railway Protection Force, the man, aged 52, was admitted to Rajawadi Hospital.

Two brave female cops saved the life of a man who slipped while boarding a train in western India's Maharashtra.

Visuals, captured on CCTV camera, showed a man standing up and going to board a moving train. As soon as he got hold of the door handle the train started to move faster and he lost his balance. He slipped and fell into the gap between the platform and the train.

The vigilant female cop ran towards the man and pulled him away from the train. The people around started to crowd the incident spot.

According to the Railway Protection Force, a passenger named Sunil Bajpai, 52, was trying to board the moving train number 15645 Guwahati express, slipped through the door, and came into the gap between the platform and the train.

Showing vigilance the two female constables on duty, Lakshmi Kumari and Jyoti Panchbudhe, caught the said person and rescued him by dragging him on the platform. The victim was admitted to Rajawadi Hospital.
