A woman and her son were inches from death when their scooter suddenly sped up onto a road in Indonesia, crashing into a passing truck, when their accelerator was pressed by mistake.

CCTV video of the incident, captured in front of Padang Aro street, South Solok, on September 25, shows the driver steer the red scooter by the road when exiting the shop parking.

The driver's young son then attempts to mount the scooter, however the accelerator is accidentally pressed, causing it to run into traffic and crashing into a passing truck.

The woman was seemingly rendered unconscious by the crash but her son ran back to the roadside for help.

According to local reports, both of them are fine and survived but were taken to hospital for injuries to their hands and legs.

The CCTV video, captured in front of MM Mart, Padang Aro street, South Solok, Indonesia on Wednesday, September 25, shows driver steers the red automatic motorscooter to road when exiting the shop parking.

The driver stopped with the engine running waiting for his son to board.

But when riding a motorscooter from the right front side, his son's hand holds the acceleration which makes motor go unrestrained into the road.

On the road, a motorscooter with driver and his son crashed into a passing truck.

Luckily, although the motorscooter was broken by a truck, the boy was seen suddenly standing and running to the road side for asking residents to help his mother who was lying on the road.

Residents help drivers and shocked boys get a hug from a woman.

According to local reports, both of them are fine and survived but was taken to the hospital as hand and leg was injured.
