An elephant that had killed one person and injured another, was captured by the officials with the help of other pachyderms in southern India's Karnataka.

The incident took place on Oct. 24 near Bandipur area of the state's Chamarajanagar district.

Visual shows the elephant being lifted with the help of a crane and loading it into a truck.

A large group of people had gathered to witness the elephant rescue.

According to the reports, the mammal has caused destruction to the residential areas and was captured with the help of Kumki elephants (trained Asian elephants used to capture rogue pachyderms).

Initially, the elephant killed a 50-year-old villager who was engaged in grazing cattle.

Later, it chased away a group of youngsters who tried taking a selfie, injuring one.

The forest officials informed that the tuskers crossed over from the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu to Bandipur in Karnataka.
