Cops in jeeps and motorcycles rushed to a spot where illegal fishing was carried out by lockdown violators in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place in Vandavasi of Tiruvannamalai district on May 3.

The video showed people fishing using nets and other equipment. The cops tried to catch hold of the violators not maintaining social distancing. However, people are seen running to escape from the cops.

According to the reports, the cops, on getting information about the illegal fishing, rushed to the spot and confiscated the equipment like nets, weighting scale and even the fishes caught.

The Police Inspector along with his team carried out the operation, more than 20 people are said to have escaped.
