Forest officials rescue elephant that attacked locals and croplands in southern India
Forest department officials captured a wild elephant after tranquillising the animal in southern India's Tamil Nadu state.
The incident took place in Thenkanikottai of Krishnagiri district on June 11.
According to the reports, the elephant had killed at least three people in recent times and destroyed several croplands in the village.
VIdeo of the scene shows the elephant, known as Kalraja (Stone King), being tranquillised and the officials restraining the animal with ropes to be moved into the transport truck.
The elephant was moved into the truck using an excavator.
The villagers living in fear had requested the forest department to rescue the elephant from their settlement.
The forest officials stated that a radio collar has also been placed on Kalraja to track his further movements.
