The police officials recovered carcasses of parrots stuck in a man-made trap in central India's Madhya Pradesh on May 27. The incident took place in a village in the Niwari district.

A video features a cop climbing a tree by the pond in broad daylight. Following this, he and another person on the branch recover the carcasses of several parrots entangled within nylon threads. The policeman removes the thread-like trap from the tree and cremates the birds in a clearing amid the bushes while the others behold the occurrence.

The accused, identified as Rakesh Kushwaha, threw a trap of nylon threads on top of his banyan tree by a pond in Koili village after getting disturbed by the constant chirping. Several birds like kingfisher, parrots, and much more got entangled within the trap and died in an effort to set themselves free. After receiving information about the incident, the police station in-charge, Alok Kumar, and Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP), Prithvipur Santosh Patel, rushed to the spot and examined the situation.

Therefore, they recovered the bodies of the birds that dried up on the tree by the time the villagers discovered them. Following this, they cremated them in the region. They also informed the forest officials and registered a case against the accused under the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972. Furthermore, for the humanitarian work done by the Niwari Police, constables Mahendra Parihar, Akash Richariya, Kumar Shanu, Rajendra Malaviya, and the staff of the Forest Department were highly praised.
