A man had a near-death experience when he almost slipped beneath a moving locomotive in western India's Maharashtra on June 24. The incident took place at Dadar Railway Station in Mumbai.

CCTV footage features the passenger hurriedly attempting to deboard the moving train at the railway station in daylight. Unfortunately, the man slips after sliding down and begins to drag along the locomotive. Within moments, his life fades in front of his eyes as he nearly falls beneath the train, but luckily, alert railway personnel rushes and grabs him with the help of another person and pulls him to safety while a crowd gathers nearby to check on the victim.

In the life-saving act, the on-duty Railway Protection Force (RPF) head constable, identified as Umesh Mali, showed his presence of mind and saved the life of a 59-year-old man named Vijay Kumar Patel, hailing from Ulhasnagar, when he ended up missing his step and had almost slid down from the gap between the platform and the train’s moving compartment.
