Democratic Alliance declares victory in the City of Cape Town

Geordin Hill-Lewis, the mayoral candidate for the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the City of Cape Town. The DA managed to retain majority control of the city, having their majority reduced. Hill-Lewis said their projections showed the party's majority will be around 58.5% from 67% in 2016 when Patricia De Lille was the party's mayoral candidate. Smaller parties such as GOOD and the Cape Coloured Congress seems to have diverted votes from the party's traditional strongholds.
