Location: Brammadesam Thiruvannamalai district of Tamilnadu state in South India.
North east monsoon brought hefty rains to the Tamilnadu state and all the water bodies are brimming to its full capacity. A group of youngsters went to take bath in Pallar river unalarmed of the risk they are venturing into. Suddenly the river got flooded and the group of youngsters got strangled in the sand dune that was in the river.
They shouted for help. Passersby who saw the plight of the youngsters informed the fire and the rescue team. They reached the spot with ropes, ladders and ordinary boats. Since the water currents are heavy the rubber boats floated away. Then the National disaster management force came into action. They brought motor boats and they rescued the youngsters to safety.
Later the public lauded the Fire and the Disaster management force for their rapid action in saving the lives.
