A snake that strayed inside a residential area gets rescued in southern India's Andhra Pradesh.

The incident took place in Yellapuvanipalem near Gopalapatnam in the Visakhapatnam district on May 29.

Visuals showed a man with a stick in his hand that was in the shape of a hook from one end. The man was moving around the entrance of a house.

He was seen removing clothes that were covering holes present in the cemented entrance of the house. He took one more stick and started putting it inside the hole where the snake was hiding.

After a few seconds, the reptile came out of the hole and the people around started to shout and scream. The man caught the snake in his hand while the snake was constantly moving. The reptile entangled itself in the gate of the house.

The man then untangled it and carried it on the road.

According to reports, Kiran, a snake expert, reached the spot upon being alerted and rescued the five-feet long rat snake.
