Clever elephant drinks water from broken tubewell in Sri Lanka
An elephant quenched its thirst by drinking water from an open tubewell in Sri Lanka.
The incident took place on the roadside in Habarana, a small city in Anuradhapura District of North Central province on May 31.
Visuals showed the pachyderm inserting its truck inside a shallow pipe and drinking water.
According to reports, the pipe has been installed as part of a tubewell.
With the upper part of the tubewell missing, the elephant used the opportunity and its truck to suck out the water and drink it.
The said tubewell is used by soldiers during wartime, but the clever pachyderm spotted it and used it to quench its thirst.
