Man gets stranded in middle of river after going for fishing in central India, rescued
A man was rescued after being stranded in the middle of a river while fishing in central India's Madhya Pradesh.
The incident happened at the Bhadanga river in Betul district on July 4.
Visuals showed the man, identified as Ramdas, stranded on a huge piece of rock in the middle of the river with water flowing turbulently around him.
He had gone fishing when there was a sudden flooding of the river. Ramdas, 30, who hailed from Batka village under the Chopna Police station area, then climbed on the rock to save his life.
It was learnt that the villagers who spotted him on the rock informed the police about the incident. They reportedly tried to rescue him first but due to the strong water current, remained unsuccessful.
The State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) team was called upon and Ramdas was rescued six hours after being trapped. Visuals showed the rescue officials carrying out the operation using a rope. A flashlight was also used since it was carried out at night.
Ramdas was seen wearing a life jacket and being rescued by the SDERF team. He reportedly didn't lose patience and didn't panic during the whole procedure.
