Baby gecko painstakingly rescued after becoming stuck to lint roller
A baby gecko was rescued from a sticky lint roller in a painstaking operation after it fell over twice.
When Alex Lu’s wife shouted for his help at home in Taiwan on August 24, he was met with a surprising situation as a tiny lizard had become glued to her hair remover.
Heartwarming footage shows the 46-year-old as he carefully lifted the gecko’s body off the adhesive surface and onto a piece of paper using the tip of a screwdriver.
Despite the reptile falling backwards onto the roller at one point, Alex eventually managed to lift its back legs and tail free of the glue and to safety.
Alex said: “My wife had her roller sitting at the floor and was about to use it when she noticed a baby gecko was stuck on it and she cried for my help. The rescue mission began soon after.
“All in all, it took about seven minutes to rescue it. Afterwards we gave it some water drops and dug a few earthworms from our potted plants for it to eat.
“Maybe it was too exhausted as we don't really know how long it had been on the roller. It was set free and crawl over the wall of our balcony.
"It was very small so the whole procedure had to be very gentle. I wasn't too worried about the tail as I know it can grow back if I snapped it, which I did not.
“But I was worried I might break its limbs. Luckily it all worked out and it crawled away fine.”
