A feisty lizard had a brave standoff with a cat before the reptile chased it off
A feisty lizard and cat had a tense standoff before the reptile eventually chased it off.
Jannette Kotze was visiting a Christmas market in Pretoria, South Africa, on November 14 when she spotted a blue-headed lizard being chased under a car.
Cute footage shows the tiny reptile face up to its feline rival regardless of its size disadvantage before lunging at its face.
After continuing to stare down the cat after its charge, the reptile eventually scared the stray moggy off and kept its place under the car.
Jannette said: “Lizards will normally run from danger, but they will deliver a painful bite if caught.
“The encounter lasted about five minutes before the cat gave up.
“As soon as I saw it I immediately got down on my knees to see under the vehicle and start filming.
“I got lots or stares from passers-by for being under a vehicle at a market.”
