This police officer hands out free coffee to locals during his patrols around Bakauheni, Indonesia.

Bripka Baim, who serves in the Community Development Unit, modified his motorcycle so he can carry around mugs, a kettle, a teapot, sugar, and a stove.

The officer makes around 100 cups of coffee a day as he patrols the streets and talks to locals about their grievances.

Baim came up with the idea through his love of coffee and talking to his colleagues.

The police force believes Baim's efforts have brought the police closer to the community.

This is the activity of Bripka Ibrahim Zahier, or affectionately known as Baim, a police officer who serves in the Community Development Unit (Binmas) of the Bakauheni Port District Police in Lampung. For the past month, he has been giving out free coffee to the community around the port area while patrolling.

Named "Ngobral" or "Ngopi Bareng" at the port, Bripka Baim modified his official motorcycle like a mobile coffee seller. He even spent his own money to create a small cart containing coffee, sugar, a teapot, cups, and a stove.

Every day, he enthusiastically shares coffee with the community and ferry users at the Bakauheni Port in Lampung. Without any signs of fatigue, he is able to brew up to 100 cups of free coffee each day.

Bripka Baim said that "Ngobral" or "Ngopi Bareng" at the port is not just an ordinary coffee session. Through this method, he can gather all suggestions, feedback, and complaints from the community. Moreover, many prospective ferry passengers have also confided their personal problems while having fun and chatting.

Initially, this idea was initiated by Bripka Baim due to his habit of drinking coffee with his colleagues while chatting about various things. According to him, through "Ngopi Bareng," emotional closeness can be created.

In addition, this activity was also inspired by the "Jumat Curhat" program initiated by the Chief of Police. This program is a way for the police to communicate directly with the community.

The "Ngobral" or "Ngopi Bareng" activity at the port has successfully brought the police closer to the community. It is evident that Bripka Baim's coffee is eagerly awaited by prospective ferry passengers who regularly cross, such as truck drivers.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bakauheni Port District Police, AKP Ridho Rafika, stated that this program carried out by his officers is expected to continue. This activity is very useful in maintaining public safety and order (kamtibmas) while promoting Lampung coffee to the wider community.
