Acting at 11 crime scenes in the legal area of Padang City, a recidivist in theft cases specializing in breaking into houses, was successfully arrested by the klewang team of the Padang Police Criminal Investigation Unit, in a rented house in the Arai Pinang area, Lubeg District, Padang City. Monday (06/11/2023).

The arrest of the perpetrator was dramatic, because the perpetrator tried to hide in the attic. but fell because his body weight was too heavy.

After receiving information about the perpetrator's whereabouts, the Klewang team from the Padang Police Criminal Investigation Unit moved quickly to the perpetrator's hiding location in the Arai Pinang area, Lubeg sub-district, Padang City.

The perpetrator, named Asep, is a recidivist in theft cases who specializes in breaking into houses, and has been in and out of prison twice for the same case.

The police were forced to break into the perpetrator's rented house because they heard the voice of the perpetrator wanting to run away from inside the house.

The arrest of the perpetrator was dramatic, because the perpetrator tried to hide in the attic of his house, but failed because the ceiling of the house collapsed because the perpetrator's body weight was too heavy.

Suddenly, the perpetrator was immediately arrested by officers without resistance. Then the perpetrator was taken to Padang Police Mapoilresta to undergo further legal proceedings.

The suspect admitted to the police that he had acted at 11 crime scenes in the jurisdiction of the city of Padang, by breaking into houses and stealing valuables in the form of cellphones, laptops and motorbikes.

Katim Klewang Aiptu Hendra Nedi said that the perpetrator was the perpetrator of the theft of house cleavers at 11 crime scenes in the city of Padang, the perpetrator's whereabouts were known by public reports.

"When we arrested the perpetrator, the perpetrator tried to escape by locking the door from inside the house, so the officers had to force the door open, and secured the perpetrator in the attic of the house," he said.

Together with the evidence, the perpetrator was immediately taken into custody at the Padang Police Headquarters, for further examination. Meanwhile, officers are still looking for the item.

"For his actions the suspect was charged under Article 365 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with violence with a maximum penalty of 9 years in prison," he explained.
