A Thai coconut curry noodle dish called 'Khao Soi' has been named the best noodle dish in the world by online travel guide TasteAtlas.

In its latest rankings, the Croatian travel website ranked Khao Soi as the top noodle dish globally, besting other popular options like ramen, which placed third, and Vietnamese beef pho, which ranked sixth on the list.

Khao Soi, originating from Northern Thailand, is a delectable coconut soup that harmoniously blends various regional influences.

The soup's base is a mildly spicy broth, merging coconut milk and red curry paste.

Served with flat egg noodles and a selection of meats, typically featuring chicken, beef, and pork, it is garnished with crisp fried noodles and chopped cilantro.

Common condiments accompanying the dish include fresh lime, pickled cabbage, shallots, and chillies.
