Deputy Rescues Inmate in Swift Action in Stanislaus County, USA

On December 9, 2023, Deputy Egbert demonstrated exceptional courage and quick thinking when faced with a potentially life-threatening situation.
While opening a cell door to allow a male inmate out for dinner service, the inmate unexpectedly attempted self-harm by climbing over the second-floor tier railing.
Reacting promptly, Deputy Egbert seized the inmate's jumpsuit to prevent him from falling. The dire situation prompted another inmate nearby to rush to the deputy's aid, collectively preventing the man from descending further. The rapid response from additional deputies and inmates further ensured the inmate's safety.
Following the incident, medical staff assessed the man's condition and thankfully found him to be uninjured.
