Saturday 9 March 2024 - The flood and landslide disaster in the Pesisir Selatan Regency area, West Sumatra, caused the road for approximately 5 kilometers to be buried by landslide material.

Landslide material caused many houses and vehicles to be affected by mud. The location seen in this video is the Sumatra crossing road or national road that connects West Sumatra Province with Bengkulu Province.

As a result of this landslide, road access was completely cut off and is now passable but only for two-wheeled vehicles. Vehicle traffic jams occurred at around 4 points and many two-wheeled riders had to brave the muddy landslide material.

Data from the local Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) records that flood locations in Pesisir Selatan occurred in 15 sub-districts. Currently, even though the flood waters have receded, the remaining material has left the roads filled with mud.
