145 residents of Kampung Panti, Rangkat Village, Tanah Datar Regency, and West Sumatra fled to a number of fields located at high altitudes and far from river flows.

They refused to be relocated to a number of refugee camps for various reasons, one of which was the distance of the refugee camps from their fields and livestock.

A resident of Kampung Panti, Ria, said that she was reluctant to move because her father had suffered a serious stroke and was unable to do any activities without help. So if he moves to a refugee camp, he is afraid of disturbing the comfort of other refugees.
