Firemen make 'Dragon Gate' water arch for students at entrance exams
This is the heartwarming moment firemen made a 'Dragon Gate' water arch for students at their entrance exams.
Mr Ren, a parent who attended the annual ceremony, witnessed the touching scene where the fire department welcomed and wished the examinees good luck by creating a 'water arch' with huge fire hoses in Hejin, Yuncheng, Shanxi, China, on June 8.
Footage shows hundreds of students who had finished the college exam passing under the arch.
Parents can be seen cheering their children during the event.
A faint rainbow even appeared in the sky above, adding a magical touch to the celebration.
In traditional Chinese folklore, the carp that jumps over the 'Dragon Gate' at the top of a waterfall will transform into a Chinese dragon, a symbol of good fortune and power.
The legend is so famous that throughout the country, a common saying is that 'a student facing his examinations is like a carp attempting to leap the Dragon Gate.'
The water arch contains the good wishes that all the students will be able to cross the Dragon Gate and get into the school of their dreams.
