Heroic Chinese villagers rescue family from sinking car in river
Villagers in southern China rescued a family from a sinking car in a river.
The heroic video was filmed in Maoming City in Guangdong Province on July 2.
A car accident left a vehicle overturned and submerged in a river, with its passengers trapped inside.
Eyewitnesses reported that the car, carrying three individuals, suddenly lost control and plunged into the river. Inside were the male driver, a pregnant woman, and a child. With the car flipped over, the occupants were unable to escape, and their lives hung in the balance.
The villagers, upon noticing the unfolding disaster, wasted no time. Stripping off their clothes, they dove into the river and began the rescue mission. Using stones and other tools, they smashed the car windows to gain access to the trapped passengers.
Despite suffering cuts from rocks and broken glass, the villagers pressed on, undeterred by their own injuries.
After a strenuous effort, the car windows were shattered, and the three passengers were pulled to safety. The child, who had lost consciousness after the plunge, was revived on the scene through CPR. Although the two adults were stable, they were transported to the hospital for precautionary treatment.
Thanks to the courageous and quick actions of the villagers, the passengers are now out of danger and recovering well.
