and today, Thursday 11 July 2024, Mount Marapi erupted again with volcanic ash as high as 500 - 1000 meters at 06.36 WIB.


Currently, Mount Marapi is at Level II (Alert) status with a recommendation that residents should not approach a radius of 3 kilometers from the peak of Mount Marapi's crater.

It is known that in May 2024, a cold lava flash flood occurred at the foot of Mount Marapi, West Sumatra which claimed 27 lives, 18 other people were seriously injured.

On December 3 2023, Mount Marapi also erupted and killed 23 climbers.
