This is the moment residents rescued a black Angora cat in the Tenilo Kota sub-district, Kota Barat sub-district, Gorontalo Province, Indonesia, on Thursday 11 July 2024, which was trapped in a major flood.

A major flood disaster occurred in Gorontalo Province, Indonesia, spreading to submerge six of the nine sub-districts in Gorontalo City.

One of the affected sub-districts is Kota Barat District, Gorontalo City, where the black furred Angora cat was evacuated.

"The floods that have occurred since Wednesday, July 10 2024, are increasingly widespread. Until now, July 11 2024, in a total of nine sub-districts, the flood has submerged six sub-districts in the Gorontalo City area," said Mahmud Baderan, Head of the Gorontalo City Regional Disaster Management Agency,

Thursday, July 11, 2024. The worst floods inundated the Dumbo Raya sub-district and Kota Barat sub-district with water levels reaching an adult's chest.
