A daredevil passenger skidded along a platform by holding a train door in India.

The unidentified youngster performed the stunt as the locomotive operated by Central Railway was leaving the Harbour Line's Sewri station in Mumbai.

Footage shows the young man running alongside the train and holding onto the door to glide as it speeds up.

He then climbed up and entered the door safely, but Central Railway chief spokesman Swapnil Nila said they issued a warning against such dangerous acts.

He said: ‘The video of this person was uncalled for. We appeal to citizens not to perform such stunts on trains as it could be fatal.'

Authorities are now searching for the person in the video for questioning.
