Ducks ride tin roof through floods in Thailand
A flock of ducks huddled on a tin roof to ride across a flooded river in Thailand.
The birds were swept into gushing deluge and hopped onto a metal panel that floated them safely in Phrae province on August 22.
Footage shows the ducks climbing down the roof panel as they approached to pass under a bridge.
However, the current was too strong, so they all returned to their makeshift vessel and rode it until they could find calmer water.
Resident Kamnan said: ‘The ducks were safe in the flood because of the roof.'
Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season, which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
