Coast Guard rescues two from vessel off Key West, Florida

This is the heroic moment the US Coast Guard Air Station Miami rescues two individuals from a vessel off Key West, Florida.

Authorities found the duo clinging to the superstructure of the sinking boat before hoisting them to safety on October 11.

Coast Guard Sector Key West watchstanders received a report about a 32ft disabled vessel located approximately 14 miles south of Marco Island around 4:15 pm. Further investigation revealed the ship was about 55 miles northeast of Key West.

A Coast Guard spokesman said: 'The quick thinking and bravery of our aircrew were pivotal in this rescue. Their timely intervention prevented what could have been a tragic outcome.'

The rescued individuals were taken to Marathon Airport, where they received initial medical evaluations. Both were reported to have no significant health issues following their ordeal.
